SMaRT Ministry is God’s coworker in implementing the mission and vision entrusted to us. We acknowledge that our ministry functions with God working in us and through us. SMaRT remains obedient and dependent on the Holy Spirit’s guidance and wisdom as we partner with you.
Relational leaders use the head-heart-hand combination for thinking and knowing, feelings and attitudes, and relationships and skills. However, transformation can only occur when there is an intimate and living relationship with God, whose transforming power will renew self, and influence others.
We are more than conquerors because nothing and no one can separate us from God’s love. His love gives us the strength to overcome our trials. As conquerors, we become compassionate, humbled, and encouraged to offer our heart-oriented presence, listening and engaging in a genuine conversation to those who need to know the Christ-crucified gospel.
SMaRT Ministry's commitment to serving others is underpinned by the belief that God equips and empowers us for this service. Our actions are in partnership with God's guidance and divine provision. We aim to serve the unserved and reach the unreached through marketplace activities and investments.
We are surrendered to God’s will while He determines our steps as we abide in Him.
We are committed to serving our King and being stewards of His gifts and creation.
We use our spiritual gifts to be creative for the eternal impact of His Kingdom workers.
We have an intimate relationship with the Triune God, who determines our relevancy as we meditate and obey His Word.
Dr. Chato Calderon was on a radical spiritual journey after being self-sufficient as a college student. Her upbringing as a Christian was interrupted by a rebellious time of self-worship as an atheist. But God never gave up on Chato. After many personal and professional challenges, she finally surrendered her life to the Lord in 2005. The Holy Spirit healed her brokenness and led her to a path of obedience and humility as a servant leader of Jesus, her Master.
Chato was an executive of U.S. Fortune 500 energy companies and senior energy advisor for USAID in Asia. She is currently a social entrepreneur and advisor on small business startups, technology innovation, education, and global Christian mission. These experiences shaped her culture sensitivity, compassion, and global perspective of the poor and underserved populations’ need to alleviate spiritual and economic poverty.
God reengineered Chato’s life into mission work through her Doctor of Intercultural Studies at Western Seminary after having degrees in Civil Engineering and Masters in Business and Public Administration, and mentoring hundreds of small businesses in the U.S. to thrive and succeed. Her affiliation with business faith-based organizations, churches, mission agencies, and Christian schools and alumni associations is facilitating SMaRT Ministry’s partnerships to introduce and practice relational mentorship on faith integration in the global marketplace.
In seeking the heart and mind of Jesus, Chato learned to trust and love God’s absolute truth, discern His will, and respond to His urgent call. With the Holy Spirit’s empowerment, she maintains the heart of a missionary being faithful, fruitful, and generous in implementing her Master’s plan for the salvation, shalom, and security of God’s children.
